What is Focus Lock and how does it block apps?
Focus Lock shields the apps you choose until your daily prayer is done. It's built on Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework — the same system-level controls parents use — so the shield is real, not an overlay you can swipe away.
How it works
- Grant Screen Time permission when the app asks (Apple's own prompt).
- Pick the apps to block using Apple's native picker — your selection never leaves your device.
- Until you complete a daily guided prayer, those apps show a shield instead of opening.
- Finish the short prayer flow and the shield lifts for the day.
Is it optional?
Completely. You can use Guided Prayer's daily prayers, scripture library, journal, journeys, and streaks with Focus Lock switched off. The lock exists to serve the habit, and some people never need it.
How many apps can I block?
The free plan covers 2 apps — enough for the one or two that actually own your thumb. Pro removes the limit so your whole distraction list can point back to prayer.
