What are grace days?
Grace days are streak protection: miss a day, keep the streak. As your prayer streak grows you earn grace days — you can hold up to two at a time. When a day gets away from you, a grace day covers it automatically and the streak survives instead of resetting to zero.
Why a prayer app needs grace
A bare streak punishes exactly the wrong moment. The person who prayed thirty days straight and then had a hospital day, a travel day, or a newborn night loses everything the counter was supposed to celebrate — and that's when most people quit entirely. Grace days encode something true about the practice itself: one missed day is not the end of a walk with God, and the record shouldn't say it is.
How they work
- Earned by consistency. Grace days accrue as your streak grows — you don't buy them and can't stockpile more than two.
- Used automatically. Miss a day while holding one, and it's applied without you doing anything. Your widget shows how many you're holding.
- Not a loophole. With a maximum of two, grace covers real life, not a week off. The habit still has to be a habit.
